Orange Soda Trailhead
Brace yourself for the challenge to come.

Believe it or not, saving your money isn’t that different from climbing these mountains. Before you start climbing, you need to know where you’re going and what path you’ll take to get there. And, before you start saving, it’s smart to know what your goals are and how you’re going to reach them.

The hike up to Orange Soda Springs can be slow and easygoing — or it could be fast and challenging. It all depends on how quickly you want to get there.

The same is true for your saving goals. For instance, Ashley wants to save $100 for a snowboard. If she saves $10 a week, she’ll have leftover earnings to spend on other activities, but it’ll take her three months before she can hit the slopes. If she puts all $20 of her earnings away every week, it might be hard to get by without spending money — but she’ll be gliding down the mountain in a little over a month.

Everyone’s saving goals are different. Maybe you’ve been eyeing a new bike, dreaming about your first car, or thinking about the cost of college. No matter what your goal is, there’s no better time than now to start climbing towards it.
