Stock Swamp Youve probably heard about the stock market from your parents and friends, at school, or in the news. The stock market is where investors buy and sell pieces, or shares, of companies like VitaPede, hoping the value of their shares will grow in the future. When a company grows or gets stronger, the value of its shares may grow as well. But if it shrinks or loses money, the value of its shares will shrink. After seeing how much Investor Island toucans love VitaPedes, Jeff decided to buy 10 shares of VitaPede stock for $12 each a $120 total investment. A month later, a strange fashion developed in the isles, and everyone began wearing VitaPedes around their necks. As more people wanted wriggling jewelry, the company and its stock grew bigger and bigger. In three months Jeffs 10 shares grew to be worth $240, or $24 each! But VitaPedes werent always so popular. Lets visit Raindrop Falls while we learn what happened to VitaPede stock three months later. |
