  1. What is Planet Orange?

    Planet Orange is a site designed to teach kids about earning, saving, spending and investing in a way that’s engaging, interactive and most important—fun!

  2. What ages is Planet Orange meant for?

    Planet Orange is geared toward grades 1–6 (or kids ages 6–11). Older kids are welcome too! In fact, some parents use Planet Orange as a fun learning experience to share with their children.

  3. What will my child learn here?

    Planet Orange teaches kids how to handle money. They learn what money is, how to get it, and how to use it wisely, all in the safe, fun Planet Orange environment. Take a look around, and see what your kids are learning!

  4. Is it safe for my child?

    Planet Orange is a safe environment. We are fully COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) compliant, and do not collect any personally identifiable information from any child. There is no person-to-person communication within Planet Orange, so your child can’t be contacted by anyone outside our organization. Our Planet Orange team will sometimes send notes through the message center, alerting them to changes on the site. Otherwise, all communication goes through you—a parent or guardian—allowing you to see and secure your child’s online safety.

  5. Why do you want my email address when my kids register?

    We want you to know what your child is up to. If your child ever forgets his or her log-in name or password, we’ll use your email to recover it. If we make changes to Planet Orange, we’ll definitely want you to know. And from time to time, we might send you information about Planet Orange promotions and events we think you’ll want to see.

  6. Are you going to advertise to my kids here?

    We’d love to help you—and your children—save money, so if you’re not already saving with ING DIRECT we hope you’ll give us a try. But we won’t use your child’s information to try to sell anything. We promise.

  7. I didn't authorize this. How do I cancel my child's account?

    You will receive a notification email when your child signs up verifying all of their information. If you’d like to cancel the account, just let us know.  Send us an email to commander@orangekids.com. 

  8. What are Obux?

    Obux is the virtual currency used on Planet Orange. You can’t buy more Obux with real money—you can only earn and use Obux on Planet Orange.

  10. We lost our log-in info? How do we get it back?

    No problem. If you need a reminder of your child’s user name or password, click the “Having trouble signing in?” link on the log-in page. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window, and you’ll be back on the planet in no time!
