Investing isn't simply a matter of luck, time, and
a fishing rod. It's also a matter of making smart choices
and understanding the risks you may be taking. That
way, you have the best chance of having your investment
pay off.
Legend has it that Risk Lagoon is home to huge Orangefish
that no one has actually seen or caught in over 30 years.
If Donia had tried catching "Big Fin," she
probably would've wasted tons of time and bait. Instead,
she took a smaller risk – and was pretty happy
with the profit she made.

Bubba plopped himself down here and fished for 14 years
until yesterday, when he finally snagged a gigantic
Orangefish that he sold for $2,000! But if you think
about it, Donia sat for three days at Investment Pier
and made $45 – or $15 for each day. Bubba
made $2,000 in 14 years, which is $142.85 a year, or
just 39 cents for each day. Who's better off time- and
money-wise – Donia or Bubba?
Ted's story is the saddest of all. He sat next to Donia
on the pier for three days without a nibble. Now that
his $3 can of bait is all gone, he's not sure whether
to put any more of his money and time on the line.
